Banana Spicecake

2 3/4 c Sifted flour

2 ts Baking powder

1 ts Baking soda

1 ts Salt

1/4 ts Cloves

1 1/2 ts Cinnamon

3/4 ts Nutmeg

2/3 c Shortening

1 1/3 c Sugar

2 Eggs, well beaten

1 2/3 c Mashed bananas

2 ts Vanilla

Sift flour, baking powder, soda, salt and spices together 3 times. Cream shortening with sugar until fluffy. Add eggs and beat thoroughly. Add sifted dry ingredients and bananas alternately in small amounts, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Pour into greased pans and bake in a 350 degree oven for 35 minutes.
